In the heart of SBMA (Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority) we found a paradise not only for us but also for a lot of living things that shares in a very dynamic ecosystem. It has something that captured my heart up to its deepest affection. It is a place that will jail you out of social perspective and keep you in a world out of dependence in industrial revolution.It is a place where its name was derived from native Ambala language which means a herbal vine - Pamulaklakin.

Located in within the Binictican Heights, Pamulaklakin was home for tourist, students and anyone who wants to experience living in the wild. The easiest way to go there is to ride a taxi beside SM Olongapo. It cost P200 but it is all worth it if you were travelling in group.

Remember that you can't buy heavy meals there, only snacks for your trip. So get prepare and pack you meals before you go there. You can also buy souvenirs such as key chains, whistle, bow and arrow, honey, shirts and more.

While on the trail the tourist guide will also offer you plants that are edible. A lot of edible plants whic do not require to be cooked are called "Ubod"

Pamulalkakin Forest Trail offers a lot of services including overnight Jungle Tours, Picnic, Location Shooting, Team Building, Sight Seeing, Mini-Jungle Tour, Trekking, and Ecology Tour. You can also swim in its clean and beutiful river which is home for a lot of location shooting in TV commercials, movies and teleserye.

River
The first thing you will notice when you arrive to there location is its mouth watering clear river. One of the TV commercial of Bear Brand long ago was shoot there. We have swum there at exactly 12:00 noon while in temperature is too hot but the river was surprisingly very cold and relaxing. Small fishes will also swim with you there.

Forest

We registered for an Ecology Tour worth P250. It consist of 2 to 3 hours of educational trekking inside the Subic Forest under the guiance of an Aeta.

Kuya Nestor a native Aeta guide tour us. He taught us a lot of things including the medicinal plants,

It is a strict requirment to have a tour Guide like Kuya Nestor when you visit the forest because it is very dangerous. It covers a large mass of land where you can easily lost. He told us of some tourist that was lost in the forest and only found after 3 days.

Touring inside the forest is really exciting. He tought us a lot of things including where to get medicines, fibers, sources of water, beliefs, traditions, and how to survive. Surprisingly he is good in speaking English language. He said he was taught by an American friend of him who visited long time ago.
